Conditions of use and protection of personal data of the website
The conditions of use may be amended by appropriate prior notice to users that must accept the new terms and conditions, if they wish to continue to use the website. In the event of any amendment of the conditions of use, and following the relevant notification of users, the use of the website by them means re-acceptance of the new conditions of use and their commitment. Any new use shall be considered as re-acceptance of the conditions of use and transactions.
1. REGISTRATION
Registration to the website requires the use of true information on the user. Upon registration, the user is obliged to declare the following information: full name, postal address, e-mail address and telephone number.
2. MEMBER ACCOUNT
After registration the user shall receive, to the e-mail address indicated during his/her registration, a message confirming his/her registration, with the information and the password he/she had declared. The user shall be personally and solely responsible for all the transactions performed through his/her account. Moreover, he/she must see to the safekeeping of the password and the formal log out of the website. If any unauthorized use of the user’s account or any existing or potential security breach is detected, the user must inform ELSTAT immediately. ELSTAT and EKKE shall not be liable for any defect or damage caused by the user’s inability of users to respect and observe this clause.
3. PERSONAL DATA
The website shall store the data declared by the user during his/her registration. ELSTAT and EKKE are committed not to use these data for any purpose without the users’ written authorization, except where instructed to do so by a competent judicial/public/police authority. The user’s data shall be safely stored and kept as confidential for everyone except for the absolutely authorized staff of ELSTAT that is required to have such access for maintenance purposes of the system or for other technical reasons. The above staff shall be bound by the relevant obligation to observe the confidentiality of the information of the IT system. The user’s consent to these conditions of use shall mean his/her unconditional consent for this transfer for the purpose indicated above. At any time the user shall have the right to delete, correct or amend his/her data by communicating to the electronic address info-panorama@statistics.gr.
4. COOKIES
The website may use cookies for user’s identification within a number of services of the website. A cookie is a small piece of data sent to the browser of the user from a web server and stored on the hard drive of his/her computer. Cookies do not cause any damage to the user’s system and do not affect the functionality in any way. Moreover, cookies make it easier for the user to surf the network, by storing his/her customized settings. The user can duly customize the settings of his/her browser in order either to be notified on the use of cookies in specific services of the website or to prohibit the use of cookies. If the user does not accept the use of cookies for his/her authentication, he/she shall have no further access to these services.
5. EXTERNAL LINKS
The website may include links to other websites, which are controlled by third parties. In no event shall ELSTAT or EKKE be liable for their content or shall it guarantee for the products and services offered therein. ELSTAT or EKKE shall not be liable for any financial or other damage suffered by the user following these links.
6. TRADEMARKS AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
The intellectual property rights (copyright) of the application belong to the National Centre for Social Research (EKKE) which develops the application as an open access resource, aiming to the public benefit and in order to achieve this objective it grants the right of use to the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), which is the sole producer and provider of official statistics on Population Censuses for Greece.
ELSTAT shall keep all its rights as regards the ownership of data and the exclusive decision on the dissemination modes.
EKKE shall have the exclusive intellectual property rights for the design, visual display, the source code, the database and the whole content of the website (including images, graphics, photographs, sketches, texts, services and, in general, all records of this website). Part of the content of the website and especially images may constitute intellectual property of a third party, natural and/or legal person with whose authorization are used by the website. Their use for the purpose of running the programme does not mean authorisation for any further use. Any violation of these authors’ rights, by any means whatsoever, shall be subject to the responsibilities and penalties provided for in the law.
The following, included but not limited, shall be prohibited: to copy, process, modify, publish, distribute, by any means whatsoever, all or part of the content of the website, texts, photos and the content of the database, without the written authorization of its authors. It shall also be prohibited to copy, process or use, by any means whatsoever, the whole or part of the website without authorization.
7. CONDITIONS OF USE OF INFORMATION EXTRACTED FROM THE PANORAMA
The material and data are provided to users through the PANORAMA application after having been produced to the best of the agency’s knowledge and ability.
The user, explicitly and unconditionally, undertakes vis-à-vis ELSTAT to observe, pursuant to the law, all of the following obligations:
a. Not to falsify by any means whatsoever the data supplied by the application.
b. To process the data following only the procedures that are absolutely necessary for his/her needs.
c. To acknowledge that the source of the data is PANORAMA, by stating that the results and conclusions are those of the user, when publishing/releasing the results of his/her work in which he/she has used the PANORAMA data.
